Winterize the e-bike

Winterize e-bike

Ihe e-bike season ends for many people in the fall. What you should bear in mind when wintering over and why a final check of the charging station makes sense.

Once you've ridden an electric bike, you won't want to do without it. The pedal assistance of up to 25 kilometers per hour increases the range of motion and makes it easier to overcome inclines. Older people in particular can remain mobile for a long time by using e-bikes. Passionate e-bikers look forward to the fall rather sadly, because for many a beautiful cycling season is now coming to an end. Sure, there are some hard-core winter riders who don't care about falling temperatures or snowfall, but the majority of cyclists leave their bikes in winter. Thereby, one should consider some important points to bring the e-wire donkey safely and well over the winter.

New charging station from the expert

First, you should inflate the tires completely and with about 3 bar, so that they do not take damage to the tread or sidewall during wintering. If the e-bike stands on the ground all winter and has too little air in the tire, the whole weight presses on it and can cause damage. Also, you should take out the batteries to prolong their life. It is best to store them in a dry and frost-proof place. The next step is to clean the frame and rims and check for damage. Finally, one of the most important items on the to-do list is to check the cables of brakes and gears. And of course you should take a look at your charging station so that you don't have a rude awakening when the season starts in spring! On the other hand, if you had general problems with your old charging station or want to buy a new one, now is plenty of time to think about it in winter. The best thing to do is to get information from a professional in good time and start the 2022 e-bike season perfectly equipped!

  1. My husband recently bought me a new e-bike. It's good to know how to properly prepare your e-bike when you don't use it for a long time. In particular, I find the tips on battery care and storage very useful to extend the life of the battery.
